What is Sea Moss?

Sea moss, also knowns as “Irish Moss” is a type of seaweed that is commonly used as a health supplement as well as a thickening agent in some commercial foods.

What are some of the health benefits of sea moss?

Sea moss is packed with minerals and nutrients and has been shown to support thyroid, digestive, and heart health. Studies have shown that it may also boost the immune system, support weight loss, act as an anti-inflammatory, and improve blood sugar management. Sea moss use has also been linked to improved skin and higher levels of energy.

What minerals or nutrients does sea moss have?

Magnesium, iodine, zinc, potassium, selenium, phosphorous, manganese, and copper are some of the minerals found in sea moss. It is also naturally rich in folate, calcium, and vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K.

Are there any negative side effects of taking sea moss?

Ingesting too much sea moss may cause digestive issues such as nausea, upset stomach, vomiting, or diarrhea.

How much sea moss should I take?

It is recommended to take 1-2 tablespoons of sea moss gel daily. Irish moss drink can be taken up to one 8 oz. dose (single bottle) daily.

How do I use sea moss gel?

Sea moss gel can be taken orally by tablespoon but is also commonly used in smoothies, soups, shakes, or baked goods.

It can also be used topically as a moisturizer and with its anti-inflammatory properties from zinc and sulfur, it is great for managing skin issues. Sea moss also helps balance oil production and provides the skin with a protective barrier that is structurally similar to its own proteins.

How does your sea moss gel taste?

All gels typically have a slightly thicker consistency than apple sauce. The plain version does not have a distinct flavor while the fruit infused ones carry the flavor profile of the fruit(s) used (eg. pineapple, mango, etc.).

The “Irish Moss Drink” has a similar flavor to a vanilla milkshake and almost the same consistency but some clients disagree.

How should I store sea moss?

You should place sea moss in the refrigerator upon receipt and use within 2-3 weeks for best results.

Does your sea moss have a fishy smell?

No. We have received feedback from clients who have purchased from competitors regarding this so we have developed a technique to eliminate this issue without compromising quality.

Do you offer refunds or exchanges?

For health and safety reasons, all sales are final and items are non-refundable or able to be exchanged. We do not use preservatives in our products making them very time sensitive for consumption.
